Looking for that perfect experience to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, a hen do or any special occasion? Then you have come to the right place!

Join local forager and private chef, Liz Cwilewicz, on a local wild foray - bringing your wild finds indoors, to finish with a scrumptious three course taster menu cooked especially for your group in the comfort of your home...

What to expect:

  • Meet at or near your home/holiday cottage/private estate
  • Liz will take you on a 1.5 hour short walk identifying plants and harvesting your wild salad
  • Gain confidence learning the art of foraging
  • Once you get back from your walk, it's time to get involved
  • Wash, prepare and season your foraged salad with oils, vinegars and fresh herbs
  • Enjoy crushing up a wild pesto/sauce whilst sipping a seasonal fizz or cordial - how refreshing!

Dining:

  • Liz will get busy preparing food in your kitchen and serve your courses one by one
  • Each course will be selected by you in advance and served in your cosy chosen dining area
  • Read through the recipe books and relax whilst you wait for each course
  • Liz will sit and dine with you!

Sample Menu:

  • Starter - Common sorrel & pennywort crème fraiche dip with local sourdough and organic carrots / Autumn wild mushroom soup / Autumn wild mushroom on bruschetta
  • Main - Exmoor Venison haunch / steak with local new potatoes, garlic butter & whortleberry jus / Organic Devon Chicken schnitzel breast in a crusty parmesan and wild garlic crumb, wild garlic & white wine cream sauce (mains are served with seasonal veg and foraged woodland salad)
  • Dessert - Vanilla & wild strawberry / rosehip baked cheesecake, seasonal coulis

Vegan & Vegetarian Sample Menu:

  • Starter - Crushed sorrel & navelwort lemon crème fraiche dip with warm flatbread / sourdough & organic carrot strips / nettle crisps and sorrel dip
  • Main - Wild garlic & nettle pesto, mozzarella, cherry vine tomatoes puff pastry pie / Poached egg on nettle puree with seasoned smashed avocado on local sourdough bread / Wild pesto quinoa, beetroot, avocado chunks, raw Devon goats cheese, toasted almonds, allium flowers and warm vine cherry tomatoes / Fresh pizza dough with ramsons pesto, raw Devon goats cheese, organic wild rocket & beetroot/ Wild mushroom risotto / Wild mushroom and roasted nuts tagliatelle
  • Dessert - Baked spiced organic apple, stuffed with amaretto soaked sultanas, coconut and gorse syrup cream, toasted almonds

How to get there

This experience will take place at your home.

Host instructions:

- Meet at or near your home/holiday cottage/private estate

- Parking: please advise of closest parking space to allow offloading of refrigerated / warm food and drink (ideally flat area)

- Access issues: please inform of any issues (scaffolding / blocked access/shared driveway usage) to allow in advance planning / parking / shuttling required. To avoid disappointment.

  • Dining table - please set up your dining table in advance (inside or out) with enough seats and space in the centre for serving
  • Dietary - notify your host in advance of any allergen intolerances/vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free requirements
  • Location & foraging site - please state your location in advance for route planning
  • What to wear: sturdy walking boots/shoes/wellies and warm layers/sun protection
  • Dogs: well-behaved dogs only
  • Children: <16 years accompanied by a paying adult
