My linen wardrobe ( 2 Day course)

What you'll do

The days are getting longer, the sky is getting brighter - before we know it, summer will be knocking at our doors! What better way to welcome in the holidays than with your very own linen wardrobe. In this four week course create a collection full of all the essentials: a sunhat, tote bag, and beautiful dress.

Each weekly workshop is 3 hours long with a 15 minute tea break. Some sewing experience would be ideal but not essential as you'll be starting with a beginner-friendly tote bag.

Course dates:

  • Week 1- Sunday 10th of July
  • Week 2- Saturday 16th of July

What you will make:

Week 1- - Tote bag/shopper bag (0.5 meters of fabric) - Bucket hat/sunhat (0.5 meters of fabric)

Week 2 - Lola linen dress (2 meters for the short version, up to 2.5 meters if you want something longer) make sure your fabric is 150cm wide

Type of fabric that works well is 100% linen, cotton and linen mix, cotton mix with a bit of drape for the dress.

  • You will have the option to alter your linen dress by changing any sleeves/hem lengths as you see fit. I will have size MED and LRG available to try on.

What you will learn:

  • French seams
  • Sewing darts
  • Gathering sleeves
  • Inserting elastic
  • Sewing neckline facings
  • Hemming a dress
  • Sewing a patch pockets
  • Overlocking

What you need to bring:

  • Your own fabric for these items or bring in a fabric that you can upcyle. Fabric for the dress can be bought after the course has started so you know how much to buy after trying on a sample
  • Matching thread

What will be provided:

  • Sewing Machine (you can bring your own if you prefer but do let me know)
  • Overlocker machine
  • Iron
  • Scissors and other equipment
  • Plenty of support and encouragement

Your lovely host can't wait to see you in the studio!
