Make a Ceramic Vase at Loaf

Join Pottymouth Workshop and try your hand at pottery at The Bristol Loaf in Bedminster. This beautiful independent artisan bakery is the perfect place to get in the creative clay zone.

Expert potters Naomi Stokes and Meredith Mason will teach you how to make your own unique vase from scratch. Take the opportunity to customise its size and shape, tailoring every angle to your personal tastes.

After a brief demonstration from your hosts, you'll be let loose to build your vase, using hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, slip and scoring. After you've constructed the form, you are encouraged to use the remaining time to decorate your work using coloured slips, carving designs and adding funky textures. Use this time to really unleash your creativity and personalise your work.

You'll receive step by step guidance throughout to build your vessel. This session is suitable for beginners so no previous clay experience is needed! The café and wine bar will be open to serve some evening drinks to spark inspiration while you sculpt.

Once completed, your work will be left with your hosts to be fired and glazed in a shiny top coat ready to adorn your shelves at home.

Final products will be ready to collected 2-4 weeks later.
