Bike clubs are a fantastic way for your child to build their cycling skills and have some fun. What a better spot for one than the glorious St George Park...
This Bike Bristol experience pairs cycling skills with adventure, engaging children in numerous exciting challenges and games. These include cones, obstacle courses, follow the leader, balance challenges, 'slow race' challenges - you name it! Bike Bristol experiences are designed for children who can ride a bike on their own but want to build their confidence.
Your hosts will use a flat training area and (depending on the group) explore the paths winding through St George Park. This allows children to develop bike control, braking, use of gears, signalling, and sharing paths with other cyclists. These experiences mean your child can be given the attention they need, while providing the special opportunity to make some new friends.
Equip your child with all the valuable skills needed to control their bike - essential skills for any future road cycling. Upon the completion of four clubs and after demonstrating their ability, your child will be awarded a special 'Skills Certificate'. They'll be so proud they'll want to get it framed!
Please note: this experience is weather dependent.

This cycling school's ambition is to get as many people as possible on bikes in the city.
Through a range of cycling courses and training, beginners can become confident commuters or leisurely cyclists with Bike Bristol. They can also learn how to fix and maintain their bikes themselves.
They're particularly keen to get more children learning to pedal and start cycling to school. Bike Bristol believes this introduces independence and a healthy lifestyle from a young age. As for adults, many would like to cycle but lack confidence. Bike Bristol's structured training allows you to build up skills that will help you ride safely across all types of roads and feel able to tackle the traffic.
Their aim is to help as many people as they can learn to love cycling, commuting to schools and workplaces, getting around town, going for family bike rides, and visiting friends.
Sam launched Bike Bristol in 2019. He wanted to share his passion for cycling with kids and adults in cities who might face some barriers to cycling. Sam is a qualified National Standards Cycling Instructor (NSIQ). Having taught 'Bikeability' and 'Learn to Ride' courses for seven years, Sam brings a wealth of teaching experience. He's also first aid trained and a qualified bike mechanic.
