Fundamentals of Silversmithing Course

This short 7 week evening course gives you an opportunity to spend more time building confidence with the tools and materials used in silversmithing and jewellery making! You'll be able to bring your own original idea into creation.

Perfect as a follow-on from one of Silver & Steel's taster sessions, come with an idea and turn it into a reality over the course of 7 x 2-hour sessions.

Book as many or as few sessions as you want. Please bear in mind that complex ideas require more sessions to complete. This short course is aimed at making you confident and independent as basic silversmithing.

You can join any class but we recommend booking at least 2 to complete an item of jewellery.

Depending on your design, you will cover:

• Using a jeweller's saw
• Shaping and forming
• Texturing & adding elements to a piece
• Soldering work
• Filing & polishing finished pieces

The price covers all tuition and use of professional jeweller's equipment.

PLEASE NOTE Materials such as precious metals and gemstones are paid for separately and depends on the weight and type of materials used.

After this course you should be independent enough to book our Daily Studio Access if you want to continue with silversmithing.

Please note we have a concession option but only book this if you aren't in full time employment or self-employed. We offer this on a mutual aid and trust basis to make silversmithing accessible to people who face economic barriers. As a small new business we do need as many full sign ups as possible.
