About Mindful Crafts

Founder Helen began practising mindfulness in 2016. This was the start of a life-changing journey.

Helen had just ended her career in teaching and was looking for the next chapter in her life. She soon discovered crafting took her away from everyday stresses - this creative outlet allowed her to express herself and be present.

When Helen began practising mindfulness through crafting regularly, she searched for workshops and opportunities where she could develop her practice. It soon became apparent that there were very few local opportunities and most were expensive.

Helen then had the idea to begin Mindful Crafts. Her regular workshops create a space for guests to spend a few hours being mindfully creative with like-minded people. Sharing her love for craft with others fills Helen with joy. She even launched her range of macrame kits in 2020. Follow Mindful Crafts on YouTube and Instagram to keep up with Helen's latest creations!

Helen Brewer

Helen began practising mindfulness in 2016. She had just ended her career in teaching and was looking for the new chapter in her life. For Helen, as for a lot of people, crafting takes her away from ‘real life’ and allows her to be creative, in the present moment, appreciating the here and now. It was when she began to practice mindfulness through crafting regularly, that she searched for workshops and opportunities for her to develop her practice. It soon became apparent that there were very few opportunities locally and, the ones that were available, were expensive and over a block of 4-6 weeks. She now offers regular workshops 2-3 hours long that allow participants to spend a few hours being mindfully creative and meet like minded people.
