Centring Meditation with Sally Balfourth

Join Sally Balfourth for a heart-led workshop to connect to the body you’re in - as it is.

You might know Sally through her weekly Sunday classes or In the Mix sessions at Now Studio. If you’ve been to one of her classes before, you will know that they are deep-diving and beautifully curated. Sally will guide you through this practice with slowness, kindness and poetry.

This session focuses on centering the body. Whether exploring emotional, energetic or anatomical networks, the heart is often at the centre of our body's experience. What happens when we consciously and deliberately allow ourselves to encounter our inner landscape with the heart at its centre?

Sally will guide this session as a tender and reflective workshop of centering practices, encouraging you to consider what it is to be heart-led and what pulls you away from that place. Explorations are influenced by meditative and somatic practices.

Although each person is encouraged to be with their own unique experience, this is about the act of coming together too.

The session is for 1.5 hours but there will be time for sharing afterwards for a further 30 minutes if you wish to stay and share - no pressure.

This event is part of the Every Body's Story 10-part series running from March to July in Bristol. These events are run by and open to those who identify as women or non-binary. The series has been created for us to gather, share, celebrate and explore our connections to our bodies. Every Body's Story

Every Body's Story is a body casting studio in Bristol. You may have seen this impressive spot featured on BBC One...

As part of their project celebrating the beauty and diversity of every body, each summer a series of golden body casts are exhibited alongside the stories of the women behind them. Founder Ellen is delighted to be welcoming guests to the studio again and helping more people celebrate their bodies by immortalising them in gold.

Sally Balfourth (She/Her)

Sally guides practices influenced by the changing tide of internal and external cycles and patterns, offering the space to navigate both the unknown and the familiar. She describes her teachings as being offered in an accessible way: ‘firmly guided but spacious; playful yet sincere’.

Ellen Downes

Ellen is a body casting artist. This creative's work celebrates the uniqueness behind every body and the power of storytelling.

Ellen's first body cast experience was back in 2015. After finding this transformative, she learned how to body cast. Since then, Ellen's been casting around the world. For her it's an honour to share this art and its beautiful, therapeutic process with others.
