What you'll do

Celebrate the wild flavours of harvest season with this autumn foraging and tasting menu experience. You'll enjoy a guided forage in the Exmoor countryside and then tuck into a well-deserved meal at the Exmoor Forest Inn, Simonsbath, Exmoor.

You will be hosted by wild forager Liz, who will teach you how to identify and harvest edible fungi, berries, nuts and autumn herbs. You will also learn how to identify inedible look-a-likes! This is a 1.5 hour easy-going forage on a relatively flat public footpath.

After the forage, you will be welcomed back to the Exmoor Forest Inn for a complimentary sloe gin-inspired cocktail and a taste of handmade autumnal jams and syrups. You will then enjoy a curated three-course taster menu prepared by forager and in-house Chef, Ben Ogden.

What to expect:

  • 1.5 hour autumnal guided foraging walk
  • Handmade and foraged refreshments
  • A curated 3-course meal by forager and chef
  • A foraging identification card to take home

If you have any dietary requirements (vegan, gluten intolerance etc.) please let your host know 2 weeks in advance.

Please note that if it is raining this experience will still go ahead. Liz will pass baskets of foraged edibles around the dining tables of the Exmoor Forest Inn and talk you though the edibles you can forage in autumn.

Minimum fitness level required.
