Start your day with a smile and a handmade breakfast set!
Nothing beats a hearty breakfast, especially when you can enjoy it from your own custom-made pottery. Join us at our snug studio in Bedminster and learn how to shape, mould and decorate your own ceramic collection in this fun and friendly 4-week course.
You’ll get to unleash your creativity and master the basics of handbuilding with clay, guided by our expert instructors. Each week, you’ll work on a different piece of your breakfast set, from plates and bowls to mugs and egg cups. You’ll also get to choose your own colours and patterns to make your pottery truly unique.
Course details:
Week 1 - Sunday 7th April - 2pm-4.30pm - Plate : Using a slab rolling technique, make one large plate and one side plate.
Week 2 - Sunday 14th April - 2pm-4.30pm - Egg Cups: Practice coil building to create two matching or contrasting egg cups.
Week 3 - Sunday 21st April - 2pm-4.30pm - Cereal bowl: Learn the potential of pinch pots to sculpt a cereal bowl.
Week 4 - Sunday 28th April - 2pm-4.30pm - Mug: Develop slab building and perfect joining as you assemble your new favourite mug.

By the end of this course, you’ll have a stunning set of pottery that you can use every morning to brighten up your day. You’ll also have learned a new skill and had a lot of fun along the way!
Your pottery will be glazed and fired for you and ready to collect 1-2 weeks after the last session.

On the day
Although aprons are provided, we recommend you wear something you don't mind getting a bit mucky! Please arrive 15 minutes before your the start of the session so we can get going promptly. Feel free to bring some drinks with you but please note no glasses are provided so please bring your own or bring bottled beverages. There is sadly no recycling on the premises so please take your packaging away with you.

Meredith Mason (She/Her)
Meredith is a ceramicist specialising in handbuilding with 3 years of teaching experience. She enjoys exploring clay techniques such as coiling, pinch pots and slab building. Bringing these techniques to a variety of workshops, Meredith aims to share her love of the clay world by guiding you through the process of handmade forms.
Naomi Stokes (She/Her)
Naomi is an expert potter with three years teaching experience. Naomi mostly works on the potter's wheel, but has recently reignited her love for hand building. Her aim is to help people realise their ideas in clay. Naomi will be on hand during the whole experience to give advice, support and plenty of encouragement.
