Feel free to bring a notepad if you like to draw or take notes, a bottle of water and weather appropriate clothing.
Healing Weeds was created to reconnect us to both the traditional and scientific knowledge about the abundant wild edible and medicinal plants around us.
Through walks and workshops, these experiences are a place for you to gain confidence in foraging for your own wild food and medicine - and letting your unique creativity guide you onwards.
View more experiences by Healing WeedsMaria is a Bristol-based forager and herbalist who started Healing Weeds to create a fun, human and relatable way to access foraging, no matter your experience.
Maria absolutely loves sharing this easy-to-learn knowledge through foraging walks, workshops and courses in Bristol where she shows people how to confidently identify and use some of the most common (and often most healing) plants in their local area. We love Maria! After our time together, we spent the rest of the day identifying and nibbling on all the edible plants we passed by. Previously overlooked plants and flowers are showing up everywhere, and we’re now even more alive to the plants we don’t know in a way that we feel able to learn and add to the foundation that Maria gave us!
Go and do anything that Maria puts out because she has the most wonderful presence and warmth backed by an unwavering knowledge of medicinal plants ❤️
A fun time out learning about edible and medical plants.
Had a wonderful, Informative day out with Maria - I didn’t have much prior knowledge to foraging but she works really well with explaining the plants properties, how to harvest and what you can make it into to all levels of experience! I wish I picked more to bring home with me but feel like I can recognise and go forth with foraging and making now :) would absolutely recommend to anyone to get back in touch with nature
