What you'll do

Treat yourself this Christmas and enjoy an evening of top notch canapés with fabulous classic cocktails. You’ll discover a group of recipes perfect for small gatherings or just to treat yourself over the festive season.

Along with two classic cocktails, you’ll make 4 - 5 different canapés, all of them easily recreated at home. Your menu for the evening could include:

  • Mackerel pate with bruschetta
  • Crispy vegetable peelings with curry salt
  • Gin and tonic tray bake squares
  • Pickled beetroot tacos with goat's cheese
  • Chilli and marmalade glazed sausages on blinis

Your evening will be a mix of demo from your Cooking It chef and getting involved with food prep and cooking. This is a fun evening of food and cocktails perfect to come along to with a friend. You’ll go away with ideas for getting creative with what’s in your cupboard to make your own canapés, whether you’re entertaining or just want an indulgent snack.

About Cooking It

Cooking It is a busy cookery school in the heart of Cotham. It was founded by Monica, who loves being in the kitchen, feeding friends and family and seeing the pleasure that sharing food can bring. Growing up in Barcelona, Monica’s passion for cooking started early and she still loves making the tapas dishes that she learnt as a girl. At Cooking it they love making food and entertaining people, and with so many cooking experiences to choose from there’s something for everyone to enjoy. They welcome people of all ages and always aim to create a fun atmosphere to cook in, where you can enjoy food with friends or family and discover more about delicious recipes.

Monica

Monica is the founder of Cooking It. She was born in Barcelona but has called Bristol home for almost 30 years. Monica grew up around food and could regularly be found in the kitchen of her grandparents’ restaurant, soaking up all the flavours and recipes - so much so she still loves making the tapas recipes she learnt as a child. She returns to Barcelona often to carry on discovering new recipes in her family’s restaurants and patisseries. When Monica isn’t sharing her cooking know-how, you’ll find her enjoying wine with friends and feeding people - often her four daughters and their friends.
