Make your own Leather Bucket Bag or Saddle Bag

Join your host in their Bristol Studio for a morning of leather bag making. Discover how to craft your very own stitchless bag!

Get taken step-by-step through the creative process. There will be 2 styles to choose from: a saddle bag or a bucket bag. Both styles are constructed using your host’s no-sew method. Pieces are woven together with some strategically-placed rivets to keep them secure. You'll even get to choose the colour of your fully functional leather bag.

All classes are kept to a maximum of four people to ensure there’s plenty of one-on-one support.

What to expect:

  • Learn how to craft your own unlined leather bag, made from beautiful vegetable-tanned Italian leather
  • Choose from two bag shapes (bags will measure roughly 28cm x 28cm when completed)
  • Choose from a wide selection of coloured leather
  • If you fancy, emboss your bag with your name or initials - discover how to use a hot foiling machine

By the end of the day, you will have gained so many new skills, on top of making yourself a brand new leather bag!

You will learn to:

  • Cut straps and use simple tools to finish and punch holes
  • Cut leather bag pieces from a pattern
  • Attach a buckle and other hardware
  • Set rivets
  • Emboss leather to personalise it with your name or initials either using hand stamps or a hot foiling machine
  • Learn how to skive leather by hand and to use an industrial skiving machine
  • Use a variety of traditional leatherwork tools

What’s included:

  • All the leather - premium thickness yet supple
  • All metal hardware is solid brass or chrome
  • Tea/coffee/cakes/biscuits

Age restrictions: 18+

Adult (Must be over 18) £175
