KASK's monthly tastings are fast becoming things of (local) legend - super informal, buzzy, charmingly chaotic...and often hard to get a ticket for.
At a time when inflation is biting, it's still possible to have all the fun of a wine tasting, mid-week, thanks to 'Pour Decisions', a new, small and social, Wednesday wine tasting held at this gorgeous bar and garden on North Street.
With only 15 spots available, you'd think it may be pricey, but here's the genius thing - you choose how much you drink...and therefore how much you pay. Every week there's a new theme and every glass poured is £5 - all you have to decide is how many glasses you'll try.
Held either around KASK's tasting table or in the upstairs garden, you'll be hosted throughout with one of KASK's knowledgeable but definitely not-stuffy team, talking to you about the wine, the wine maker, the grape, the region the wine is from, ideal food pairings etc.
Example themes include 'Love Me For A Riesling', 'All Whites Tonight', 'Orange Wednesday', 'Too Basic?' (all Sauvignon Blancs), 'Red All About It', 'Summer In Italy' and 'Why Chardonnay Isn't Just A Character in Footballers Wives'. With cracking themes like that, wine not!

KASK is a Real Wine bar, deli and shop tucked away on North Street in Bedminster. One of the things that makes this bar so unique is its mission to serve only organic, sustainable, vegan and minimal intervention wine. Some call it natural, but they like to call it Real. KASK was first imagined by owners Natalie and Charlie as they explored the wine bars of San Sebastian. They loved the variety of wines they found, the knowledge of the local owners and the tapas along each bar. Around the same time they developed a passion for natural, sustainable wine and went on a journey discovering the very best minimal intervention producers. Today at KASK, they proudly stock only sustainably-grown and made wine from small producers, alongside delicious cheeses and charcuterie plates. Much of their wine is served by tap, so if you find a glass you really love you can ask them to fill a bottle up for you to take home.
