Picturesque plant art at Bridge Farm

What you'll do

Green and luscious, wild and wavy, prickly and pretty - or however you like them. If you haven't already guessed, this experience is all about plants.

Houseplant lovers - are you ready to create some picturesque art, inspired by your pretty green friends?

Plants bring brightness and calm to any space. Your host Clare will bring along a collection of beautiful ones for you to observe on the day. You'll look at how various artists have focused on different plants and their features, to create striking images. Working through a series of different exercises will help you to put a stamp on your own artistic style...

You'll try your hand at line drawing, colour exploration and mark making. All Clare's activities are designed to inspire new ideas. Once you're feeling relaxed, you'll find your responses to the artists' work you have explored just keeps on evolving.

See plants under a dazzling new light. Get familiar with their fabulous shapes and colours. Clare will create a lovely still life for your group to work from. They will also make a booklet for each guest, featuring a collection of the artists you observe on the day.

At the end, there will be the opportunity to chat about your work and how you found the exercises, in a relaxed and open space. This is a place to be creative, without any judgement holding you back.
