Needle felting workshop
What you'll do
Learn how to create wonderful 3D animals using the needle felting technique in this hands-on workshop.
Your knowledgeable host Barbara will share a wide range of techniques with you throughout this experience. She'll show you how to create a 3-dimensional form from wool fibres using a special barbed needle, where, by using a stabbing action into the fluffy fibres, you'll be able to knit them together or sculpt them. You could also use the techniques you'll learn to make a flat piece of felt with a lovely landscape theme.
The half day workshop is a brilliant introduction to needle felting. You can use this opportunity to make your own cute creature such as a bird, owl, penguin, hedgehog, mouse or a similar animal.
The full day workshop allows beginners to really get to grips with the technique and create a larger, detailed animal with four limbs, for instance a hare, dog, cat or horse. You'll also learn how to use a light wire frame called an armature as a base for your creation.
All materials are provided in this workshop so just bring yourself and get ready to get creative.
