What you'll do

Get ready for a beautiful evening combining storytelling, Dark Feminist philosophy, and an inclusive womxn's sharing circle. Embark on a journey with your two inspiring hosts to discover a different kind of feminism that could speak to you.

The Dark Feminist draws her inspiration from all the Dark Feminines that have come before her. She encourages us to transcend what 'woman' means, by inviting us to move away from outdated stereotypes and forms of feminism. She dissolves the illusory boundary between ‘us’ and ‘them’ and empowers us against the patriarchy.

In the first half of this experience, critically acclaimed performer Deborah Antoinette will tell a story based on the myth of Lilith. This will be followed by a talk from Kimbers Rogers, founder of The Dark Feminist, on the fundamentals of her philosophy and its impact on contemporary discourse. After a short break, you'll lie down for a guided meditative journey to connect with your Dark Feminist within. Your time will draw to a close as you gather together in a womxn's sharing circle to reflect on your experiences.

The ancient, rich mythology of The Dark Feminine goddesses such as Lilith, Kali, the Black Madonna and Persephone are road-maps for far more than the underworld and its associated cycles of destruction, creation and rebirth. Their myths offer us an alternative template to explore a sense of self that's rooted in embracing all aspects of our womxnhood. They send us down the rabbit hole of the unconscious, guiding us on a beautiful transformational journey towards radical healing. Representing a much-needed social commentary on the world which sits outside of societal norms today.

Deborah Antoinette Ward

Deborah is a performer, theatre-maker, storyteller & facilitator. She believes stories hold deep healing potential. She also thinks laughter is the perfect remedy for acknowledging how absurd the world can be. Deborah digs into myths, flies with magical fairytales and revels in writing theatre sketches that shake-sh*t-up.

Her explorations of the self extend to the realm of systematic constellations. This is a collective healing practice that focuses on our personal stories, seeking movement in places where relationships and narratives become stuck. Deborah's the co-creator of the comedy show 'Queen C*t - Sacred or Profane?', the movement show 'Raven' and a feminist storyteller.
