Make fantastic bird sculptures with your kids

What you'll do

Here’s something bound to put a smile on you and your child's face. Under the guidance of an art tutor, join forces to make a fun and vibrant bird sculpture. If your child enjoyed Rio, then they'll absolutely love this!

Your inspiring host will show you how to turn scrunched-up newspapers into seriously impressive mixed-media creations. Learn how to tape up your newspaper into vibrant collaged tissue paper with a fabulous feather finish, that you could almost mistake for the real thing! This is a chance to get creative, experimental and let your imaginations run wild.

This workshop will take place at Portishead Lake Grounds. You’ll be sitting under a tree, enjoying the shade and lovely views when you begin to create. This experience will last for two hours and refreshments will be included to keep you feeling inspired!

About Bristol Art Workshops

Barbara is an artist and tutor that enjoys hosting hands-on, creative art workshops in Bristol and Portishead marina. In fact, she's been making art since she was a child and it's always been a huge part of her life. Barbara studied fine art and completed a masters in sculpture and has been exhibiting, creating projects and commissions ever since. She had a studio at Spike Island and then spent 10 years in Bangalore working in different parts of India, before returning to Bristol to live on a boat in Portishead. As well as being a part time tutor at Bristol School of Art and the Folk House, Barbara is now happy to be launching art workshops on her boat, exploring a range of creative making experiences.
