We did a barista course yesterday: we weren't expecting too much but it was absolutely superb. Alistair is an excellent trainer, it was relaxed, informative, hands-on - great environment, great fun - lovely people - all-in-all an excellent way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon! We have no plans to take it up professionally but really good to have an understanding of it all. The practicals were spot on - who knew? Thanks - Alex and Leili

Excellent coffee course

Brilliant session! The host was super informative about all things coffee, and could answer all of our weird and wonderful questions! The practical element in the second half was so helpful and I went home and made the best coffee I've ever made on our machine. Result!

Really enjoyable session with an easy going and engaging host. If you have a 'proper' espresso machine at home or are thinking of getting one this is an ideal backgrounder into understanding coffee, how to brew it and most importantly get started with latte art. Also great to support a local independent company. Viva Oddkin!

A great introduction to speciality coffee, understanding what changes the flavour of an espresso (when you hear people talk about ‘recipe’, you’ll learn what this means!) and of course latte art! Which was great fun and we’re now busy practising at home. Great hosts

Excellent afternoon, which I really enjoyed. Friendly and knowledgeable hosts; made to feel welcome. Learnt loads and very pleased to have completed their session. An attendance certificate would have been a bonus, especially for people looking to a career as a barista.

Jess was really knowledgable and it was super interesting to learn about coffee roasting, flavour profiles right through to espresso and latte art. Being in a group of 4 meant you got lots of time to ask questions and try things out.

The Be a Barista experience with Odd Kin coffee was great. My friends and I have enjoyed all parts of the experience. We have learnt how to brew delicious espresso shots and steam milk to perfection, while learning about all things coffee :)

A really great course. We learned lots about different types of coffee beans, how they are collected and roasted, the tastes of different types of coffee, how to dial in espresso and how to make latte art. We would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time with Jess on Sunday. She was informative and fun. Loved learning about how coffee is made and tasting the selection of coffees. My latte art wasn't very good but I'll keep on practicing at home. I'd highly recommend for any coffee lover. You won't be disappointed!

Great experience for my Dad and I, a super friendly atmosphere and a nice size group so we still got some direct help with grinding and steaming milk correctly. Would highly recommend even if you don't love coffee!

It was a very good experience and learnt a lot about coffee. I wasn't very good at the art thought but can now appreciate the effort and skill it takes.

One pointer would be to maybe have some nibbles or food to buy as I know now I am a bit sensitive to caffeine and needed some food in me.

Other than that would recommend!

This experience is great for coffee snobs and those who want to play at being a barista and learning latte art! Both Al and Chrissi were so well informed, and it was so nice to see how an independent coffee roasters / cafe run and the relationships they have with the coffee farmers predominantly in South America. They were funny, passionate and interesting and my friends are all desperate to go! One tip - eat a good breakfast before you go as you drink a LOT of coffee!

This was a really fun and informative couple of hours spent learning the basics of the origins of coffee, roasting, making a delicious espresso and latte art. It was a lot to squeeze in but the group size was small so there was lots opportunity for hands on experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole 2.5hours and would definitely recommend this if you have any interest in coffee no matter what your level of knowledge or experience.

I bought this as a gift for my partner as we wanted to figure out how to make best use of our coffee machine. It was brilliant. So informative, I never knew how intricate the art of coffee was, and it was great learning everything from coffee bean types to how to perfect our latte art. A really fun session, and Christina and Al are super knowledgeable. And today we made an awesome cup of coffee! Thanks both

When you enter the place you can feel those people put their hearth in what the are doing. I like that atmosphere. I enjoyed my time there. We had an excellent experience learning about coffee from Christina. Me and my friend were fortunate to have ~3 hours just us with her, as some other people had dropped out. We enjoyed the informal nature of the session, and found it really interesting to hear about the background and science of the modern coffee that we drink. The session also included lots of variety and practical components: a tasting session, trying to make the perfect espresso, and latte art! We would highly recommend! :)

Had such a great time yesterday! Christina was really friendly and knowledgable, and made the whole experience fun. It was super informative too - we learnt a lot of interesting facts. I loved being able to try the different coffees & see how they vary. Can’t wait to put everything we learned into practise!

Really great course and host knew her stuff. Touched upon all aspects of coffee from how’s it grown right through to end product. Was nice to have a go on the coffee machine and makes you appreciate how tricky it is to make the heart shape in the milk.

Really enjoyed this coffee workshop - Kevin was great, he made it all super fun, was very informative and clearly is very passionate about coffee! We really enjoyed trying all of the different coffees and trying the latte art. Good value for money and would definitely come back/ recommend this to friends. I would recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest in coffee and looking to learn more. I did it with my Dad and we both had a blast. The only downside as I was a bit jittery after the 5+ coffee's I had but that was all of my own doing, I just couldn't stop drinkin ght coffee as it was so good.
