This summer sees a collection of Afro Fusion collaboration masterclasses being held up on the Downs to celebrate the South West's dance fitness talent.

In the first section of this experience, your enthusiastic host Brice will lead a fun-filled 1-hour Afro Fusion dance fitness workshop. This part of the masterclass will get you smiling as you sweat and you'll have a blast while working out! You'll learn some new dance hall steps, have fun and make new friends.
Part two sees your guest host Monica lead you through a carnival fitness workout. Monica is an experienced dance leader and is driven to encourage others to live life to the full and give it their best shot. In her upbeat workout, Caribbean flavours are fused with simple exercise patterns that everyone can follow, all to a fantastic soundtrack that is bound to get to you shaking your hips!

Bricercise is all about dance experiences to get you moving and grooving to the beat of your own drum. Through a mixture of music genres and dance styles, you can go at your own pace whatever your dance experience to find ways to move and stay active. With these experiences, guests can work on goals personal to them, whether it's technical development you'd like to focus on, staying active or engaging socially with others through dance fitness.
Having fun is at the core of these experiences and your hosts aim to deliver exceptional experiences; where memories can be made and the magical inspiration of dance kept alive in your heart.
View more experiences by Bricercise Fitness and DanceHaving always had a huge passion for dancing, I began official dance training upon returning to Bristol from some time away for University. After trying out a variety of classes and styles, I eventually found a dancehall class which was a particular favourite of mine. After attending regularly and committing to self practice, I made it into the performance team and performed at shows and local festivals. I then joined the street dance competition team with Sublime and competed at national level; which was a personal triumph for me.
All whilst maintaining my dance training, I completed a sport science qualification at Bath College and enhanced my learning of basic sporting and fitness concepts. Upon completion of this course I also completed a Level 3 in Personal Training and am now competent in my abilities to train individuals on a 1:1 basis.
Lastly, I completed a course to become a Carnival Fitness instructor after discovering a love for these classes and the Piloxercise network and community. I have taught a variety of my own classes and Carnival classes and collectively this has pushed my instructor abilities and I now feel confident in hosting more classes with my own choreos. In 2021 I will also be completing a Zumba instructor course to further build on these skills and host more dance classes within Bristol and beyond.
Monica became a carnival fitness instructor after falling love with the workouts. Her fun energy and great spirit are what make her an incredible dancer and fantastic teacher.
