Yuup, the local experiences company, is launching in Cardiff this April. With a mission to champion indie businesses and empower local communities, Yuup is now recruiting experience hosts (individuals who can share a unique experience with the community) across the city.
Since its launch in Bristol in April 2021, Yuup has expanded into Bath and Birmingham, growing a vibrant community of over 500 experience hosts. The business is thriving and has ambitious plans in place to expand across UK cities and into Europe, kicking off here in Cardiff this Spring.
So, what does Yuup do?
For those unfamiliar with the platform, Yuup is an experience marketplace. From bread-making workshops to foraging adventures, Yuup provides an opportunity for individuals to experience the best their city has to offer while supporting the local community. It's not merely about creating memorable experiences; it's about building connections and fostering a sense of community.
For some hosts, Yuup experiences serve as their primary source of income, while for others, it provides an extra stream of revenue. Yuup encourages creativity and diversity, ensuring a thriving community for experience hosts and customers alike.
A business for social impact
What sets Yuup apart is not just the diversity of experiences on offer but also the social impact it creates. By November last year, the total income earned by hosts on the Yuup platform since its launch in 2021, surpassed £3m.

From small indie experiences to large immersive events
The success of Yuup is leading to much larger events, all organised with social impact at their core. Yuup collaborated with Celestial, the creators of mesmerising drone light shows, in 2023 to host their most significant experience yet – Evolution, an epic drone-light show.
Following a hugely successful pilot in Bristol and the West Midlands with sell-out shows, Evolution is set to tour the UK, kicking off first here in Cardiff on 29th March.
Revenue from these larger event partnerships will help scale the core Yuup business offering of community events delivered by local experience hosts.

- are open to an exclusive partnership with Yuup

- have availability to offer a minimum of 1 or 2 experience sessions each week, preferably more!

Dominic founded Yuup driven by a desire to help local people and enterprises identify new opportunities to thrive. Inspiring new experiences on our doorsteps should be easy to find and book, benefiting both the participants and the hosts.
As Yuup’s CEO, Dominic is responsible for the strategic direction of the business and leading on the scale-up ambitions of the company to deliver positive social impact across the UK and beyond.
Before Yuup, Dominic was a consultant with global tech consulting firm, Unisys, and founded, grew and sold tech agency, Auros. The acquisition of Auros by Zone led Dominic to join the Zone board and, as CTO, he played a key role in the team that led the combined business through a period of significant growth, following a minority investment from BGF in 2015 to fund further acquisition. Zone was acquired by NASDAQ listed Cognizant in 2017.
